Rotating Majorana zero modes in a disk geometry

چکیده
We study the manipulation of Majorana zero modes in a thin disk made from $p$-wave superconductor order to understand their use as building block for topological quantum computers. analyze second-order corner that arise when an in-plane magnetic field is applied, and calculate dynamical evolution rotating field, with special emphasis on non-adiabatic effects. characterize phase transition between high-frequency near-adiabatic using Floquet analysis. show oscillations persist even adiabatic because frequency independent coupling excited states, which we have quantified numerically analytically. These results controlling rotation can be simple method avoid errors originated this thus increase robustness computation.

Boosting Majorana zero modes
One-dimensional topological superconductors are known to host Majorana zero modes at domain walls terminating the topological phase. Their nonabelian nature allows for processing quantum information by braiding operations which are insensitive to local perturbations, making Majorana zero modes a promising platform for topological quantum computation. Motivated by the ultimate goal of executing ...

Title of dissertation: MAJORANA ZERO MODES IN SOLID STATE SYSTEMS Hoi Yin Hui, Doctor of Philosophy, 2015 Dissertation directed by: Professor Sankar Das Sarma Department of Physics Majorana zero modes are zero-energy excitations that are their own antiparticles, and obey non-Abelian statistics which could be harnessed for topological quantum computation. There are many theoretical proposals to ...

متن کاملUbiquitous Nonlocal Entanglement with Majorana Zero Modes.
Entanglement in quantum mechanics contradicts local realism and is a manifestation of quantum nonlocality. Its presence can be detected through the violation of Bell, or Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequalities. Paradigmatic quantum systems provide examples of both, nonentangled and entangled states. Here, we consider a minimal complexity setup consisting of six Majorana zero modes. We fi...
